Juggling duty and entertainment!

I was on duty last saturday night. 'The Big Boss of Sabah' was invited for a dinner organised by the 'Pergerakan Wanita Umno Sabah'. That night the Magellan Ballroom occupied some 80 tables and the settings was just fine to set the mood for the mostly wanita members lah..with the red and white satin flowers as the centrepiece on each tables and satin drapes all over the wall.
I thought to myself that night, well yeah I'm here on duty but might as well enjoy the night hehehe..I could still laugh for no reason while typing this.

Anyway, I just wanted to show you my pix with our local singer Azharina Azhar taken outside the ballroom, so ambil kesempatan lah..but too bad the person who help me snap this obviously so nervous I guess. See...it's so blurrrr... :-(
Her vocal, wow powerful man! I'm proud to say that Sabahan singers are now an asset to our country music industry. Right?! Beside Azharina, Ebi from AF5 also performed and a duet with Azharina.

A fashion show highlighting Sabah Batik courtesy from 'Olumis Batik Boutique' . Too bad huh, I didn't bring my digital cam, see all those happenings that night, what a total waste!

Zzz...

"Goldilocks was very tired by this time, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She lay down in the first bed, but it was too hard. Then she lay in the second bed, but it was too soft. Then she lay down in the third bed and it was just right. Goldilocks fell asleep."

Hi, been away from this blog, but today I came back with this pictures. Oh my, how I wish I could sleep in any of these comfortable and cosy Aussino products haha..don't you? Well, If you were to be like Goldilocks, which bed will you choose?
I saw these beautiful beddings on display while on our lunch hour in 1 Borneo last week. I can't resist snapping some pix and talking about the $$ per set yeah, its rather expensive but I guess worthwhile buying considering the fine material they use and not forgetting their designs, I just love it! Dear..ehhmm...if you happen to read this blog maybe you can consider my Aussino for July? hehe...

It's FUN time again!

Hey Isaac, can mummy go inside too?

Today we brought our kids to '1 Borneo', the latest shopping mall in Kota Kinabalu. It was bigger than the shopping malls in the City Centre, it's just kinda different in concept and the layout. Cool but tell me if I'm wrong, it reminds me of KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, yeah?

Ruth eager to ride this..fasten your seat belts girl!

And so...the kids were the ones really excited about their new place to hang around. The first shop we entered 'Disney World Of Cartoons' located in 2nd Floor I think, can't remember. We bought the kids each a small toy..again toys..haven't I said no more toys at home?!
"Mummy, can this thing fly too?"

Anyway, as we walk along the blocks of new shops, new brand names which some never come across my head :-p ..Again, the kids with their super eagle eyes saw the amusement centre, OH NO! Huh..have I got money left in my pocket? yeah..you know what I mean. We spent more than an hour at 'Boo-Boo Land' weird name to me though. So, here are some pix taken, well afterall today is their day we've promised them this before we set out this morning. Hey kids, the next trip is daddy and mummy's turn ok :-)

more games...

Manukan Island

You should come visit Manukan island. Gorgeous white sandy beach, clear crystal water. Colourful fish and other marine life, hey I've seen a blue star fish it was extraordinary to me cause I've never seen it in blue hahaha.. Coconut trees around most areas, a splendid place for relaxation.

This is the place I would love to come again with my kids. If you love snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, parasailing and diving, you can have it all here and there are lots of other activities to do at the island. Come and see for yourself ;-) If you grab yourself today's New Sabah Times, 'In Sites' page III, by Anne Vivienne on 'The Manukan Island Resort' a short article describe the beauty of it.

My thoughts, love and prayers for you daddy..

You never said I'm leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If Love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home
******
On the 25th August 2000, almost 8 years ago, before the clock stroke midnight. That was 'The Day'. I can still recall the saddest day in my life when my dad died in ICU, Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He died of heart and kidney failure. Before he went into deep coma, I was the last person he talked to as it was my turn to look after him that day. We even talked awhile, seeing him in pain I let out some jokes and he smiled though he was in pain at that time. He asked me to keep his rosary, a silver made from Roma, and I did till today. He said he was thirsty and wanted to drink some water and I hold the cup firmly to let him sip the water and he looked at me and said "you must look after the family" This, till today I never reveal to my mum. It hurts so much just thinking one of the last conversations I had with daddy.
Hours pass-by, I didn't prepare myself for the worst that time, and when it suddenly happen, I got panicked and almost fainted. I was crying, crying calling my daddy, my throat hurts and of a sudden I was pushed aside to a chair, doctors and nurses took charge. He was then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) and 4 days later, he left us. I couldn't stand, my limbs went numb, my thoughts were empty and tears flowing...
Being the only daughter, he showered me with his love and care. I love my daddy so much. I really missed having him around us. He was my adviser, he was my inspiration and he was the place I could talk to and let out my problems and misery I had and he would listen. Now he has gone forever, I look up the sky and say my prayer quietly for him and wish him Happy Father's Day..

Happy Father's Day! (15th June 2008)

Daddy, daddy let me say
I love you in every way
I love you for all you do
I love you for being you
Daddy, Daddy let me say
Have a Happy Father's Day!

luv,

Ruth, Cynthia & Isaac

Bottoms up!

Alas the 2 cousins can really relax and enjoy their bottle of milk together. Rio, my (BIL) baby came over to our place recently and I had this opportunity to snap their pix together. Rio is about 10 months old now and getting bigger each time he came home to Kg from Sipitang. Sometimes Isaac being naughty and curios about his little cousin, with his small fingers poke Rio's mouth or eyes when there's opportunity :-) Isaac get so excited whenever people come to our place, poor darling seldom gets visit unless we bring him over to my mum's and MILs place. So, enjoy your milk little ones, get those healthy calcium for a healthy body dearie!

Part of growing up..

Dr. Darren in action..comforting Ruth with his stories before pulling the tooth

waiting for the moment..I told her to smile but in vain..poor darling

Ruth was in the dentist again this morning for the same reason as the 1st time, for her lower front showing a new tooth coming out but the baby tooth still very much 'alive and kicking'. We had no choice but to remove the 2 front baby tooth to make way for the new tooth to grow freely lah..So we brought her at around 9am to a dental clinic in Foh Sang, Luyang. She looked abit worried and I told her its gonna be ok than the previous. After registering her name in the reception, she was the 4th patient for the morning. Accompanying her sister, Cynthia looked so excited as every time patients coming in and out from the doctors room, she will stand and said, 'nah..Ruth your turn' which agitates her sister. Finally by 10am, her turn to see the attending doctor (Dr. Darren). Saw the nurse rubbed a cream on her lower front gums and Dr. Darren explained the cream will make the next procedure(injection) alot easier and painless..hmm..I was never done that when I was a kid..I could only remember so much pain and tormented some more..eehwww
Procedure took about 20mins including numbing the gums, waiting for the right time for injection and pulling this 2 small baby tooth.

The 2 baby tooth, bye-bye tooth..I was almost to tears :-p

Brave girl, she didn't even shed a tear

Fuel price up again!

I woke up this morning and as usual after a Big glass of water then straight to the kitchen to boil some water for our morning coffee. As the water filter filled up the kettle, my thoughts went back to last night happening when I was on my way fetching hubby from the airport. It was such a havoc, cars in long lines heading to fuel stations, be it Petronas, Shell, Esso..what else..I guess if I immediately open my fuel stations, might 'untung' alot last nite. I quickly gave a call to my colleague (Juvi) asking what was happening with the fuel, did I miss something in the news? But it irritates me alot coz I was going somewhere else and the traffic jammed! Needless to say..but in second thought, got angry with the ***** as they didn't get to inform the public of the fuel price hike, so we all got panic! And so, the front page today's Daily Express, "RM1 jump in fuel price" Petrol for RM2.70 per litre and diesel RM2.58 p/litre.
I was thinking this morning, maybe I would just park the car at hubby's office and take a bus from KK to my office in Likas, haha...yeah you never know. We can't live this much comfort anymore when all things getting expensive nowadays. It's too sad for me thinking those lower income groups having to fork out more $$$ for fuel. Even the price of our basic necessities like rice, flour and cooking oil.
So those of you having backyards, don't care lah..how small is your space, to plant some veggies. At least you save some money buying veggies outside, right? Am thinking of planting some tomatoes, chillies in my small veranda (save money) and my aluminium soft drink cans, gonna sell this soon (save money). Huh..what else can i make money out of it? think..think..think..

It's your Birthday!

The baby in the family has finally grown up, Happy 16th Birthday dear brother Aaron!Yesterday we managed to cut a cake to mark his birthday but we were a little 2 days late as the actual day was on the 30th May. Anyway, never too late as long as we remember right? Butter walnut as his favourite cake and here is a 2kg Butter Walnut just for him haha...

And oh..what about my kids? Yes they were so excited and can't even wait for their uncle to cut the cake. While Ruth, Cynthia, hubby and mum sang the birthday song, Isaac slipped in between them wondering what on earth with the singing and a big round thing with candles on it! He looked puzzled for a second when Aaron blew out the candles. Anyway, everyone had a big slice each and especially my girls with lots of cream on tops. We always love and proud of you Aaron for whatever God's plan for you ahead may it will be a happy life and good health always, once again...

'HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY' !
*compliment to Clare Mumpin for her delicious cake
